On May 5, 2023, Thornburg Investment Management announced that Jason Brady would depart the firm before the end of the year, stepping down from his role as CEO and portfolio manager. Brady was listed as a portfolio manager on Thornburg Investment Income Builder beginning Feb. 1, 2007, serving on the fixed-income sleeve. As of Sept. 1, 2023, Brady is no longer a portfolio manager on the strategy and Christian Hoffman joins the current lineup of managers Brian McMahon, Ben Kirby, and Matt Burdett. These announcements do not alter our view of Thornburg Investment Income Builder, and the People and Process Pillar ratings remain Average. Ben Kirby, who focuses on the equity portion, remains in place and guides the vast majority of the portfolio's assets. Christian Hoffmann contributed to the fixed-income component here and is a sensible addition to the manager roster.
