Abrdn Shakes Up Its Leadership Structure

Analyst Note

On May 12, 2023, Abrdn announced several changes to its senior leadership team. First, Chris Demetriou, co-CEO of Abrdn's asset-management business, will depart the business, and the firm will move to a single CEO structure. Current co-CEO Rene Buehlmann, who was previously responsible for Asia-Pacific, will be the sole CEO going forward. Buehlmann will continue reporting to group CEO Stephen Bird, who remains in place.
