Key portfolio manager and research analyst John Bellows unexpectedly left Western Asset on May 1, 2024. As the potential heir to co-CIO Ken Leech, Bellows played a key role as the firm's US Federal Reserve expert and, more recently, as head of its broad markets team. He had been an important contributor in comanaging the Western Asset Core Bond and Western Asset Core Plus Bond strategies as well. We are placing these strategies under review to evaluate the impact of Bellows' departure.
