Tim O’Brien is a Managing Director and Head of North American Financial Institution Ratings, overseeing banking and investment management companies at Morningstar DBRS. Previously, Tim was the Managing Director of the Diversified Industries group, a team that rates companies across industry groups, including consumer, industrials, transportation and logistics, services, technology, media, and telecommunications. Tim has over a decade of experience with Morningstar DBRS. He previously worked with RBC Capital Markets and the United Nations and spent four years living in Kazakhstan working with two hedge funds focused on emerging and frontier markets. Tim’s educational background is in economics and mathematics, and he is a certified CFA Charterholder.
