J&T Express reported third-quarter parcel volumes, with growth of 44.5% year over year in Southeast Asia and 160% in the new markets segment. In China, volume grew 15.3%, versus industry growth of 4.6% from January to August; September industry data has yet to be released.
J&T manages to increase its parcel volume share in China through superior service quality and impeccable cost control faster than expected, resulting in more-than-expected market share gain.
Stronger-than-estimated price competition would further pressure J&T’s unit revenue.
