Company Report

Holcim Is on Track to Comfortably Achieve Its Midterm Financial Targets

Holcim has the third-largest cement capacity globally and is number one outside China, even after accounting for the spinoff of its North America business, Amrize. Several acquisitions that tilted Holcim’s revenue toward the US ultimately led to the spinoff of its North America business in June 2025. Building materials account for 66% of group revenues in fiscal 2025, with the ambition to achieve a 50/50 split with lighter building solutions by 2030. The announced acquisition of Xella is a step toward this goal.

Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls

The phasing out of free carbon credits in Europe to produce cement will put pressure on small manufacturers and likely lead to lower supply, and thus higher profitability for large incumbents such as Holcim.

Bears

Following the spinoff of Amrize, Holcim has no exposure to the US market, which exhibits high entry barriers and a robust outlook from reindustrialization and infrastructure spending.
