Business Description

James Hardie is a manufacturer of fibre cement-based building products, selling primarily to the residential construction industry. North America is the primary geography, generating about 80% of group earnings. Here, it is the largest manufacturer of fibre cement which is mainly used for siding. Asia-Pacific businesses in Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines, as well as Europe, make up the rest of earnings. In 2021, the group acquired Fermacell, a fibre gypsum building products business headquartered in Germany with operations throughout Europe.
