Longtime comanager Robert Feitler is retiring at the end of 2023, but his impending departure does not impact ClearBridge Large Cap Value's Morningstar Medalist Ratings of Silver or Bronze. While losing a long-tenured manager is a blow, Feitler's retirement after nearly 20 years managing this strategy does not come as a surprise, and this portfolio remains well supported. Feitler's departure was signaled in 2022 when ClearBridge appointed Deepon Nag as a portfolio analyst on this strategy, which is effectively a portfolio-manager-in-waiting role. Nag will join existing comanager Dmitry Khaykin on the management team effective December 2023. Khaykin began managing the fund with Feitler in 2007, so he has plenty of experience of his own to lean on. Nag was a highly regarded technology analyst as a member of ClearBridge's central analyst pool before taking the portfolio analyst role. Investors should not expect any material changes to the process, and the two managers will continue to draw on insights from ClearBridge's capable central research team.
