Buffalo Discovery comanager Jamie Cuellar died unexpectedly on May 8, 2023, at age 53. Cuellar joined Kornitzer Capital Management, advisor to the Buffalo Funds, in 2015 after previous stints at Northern Trust, PineBridge Investments, Brazos Capital, and John McStay Investment Counsel. Upon joining the firm, he was named as a manager on Buffalo Small Cap BUFSX, which he then helped revitalize. In May 2020, he was appointed as comanager of this strategy. While firm veteran Dave Carlsen remains on the fund, its Morningstar Medalist Rating is Under Review pending details on who might succeed Cuellar.
