AllianceBernstein has announced that Vinay Thapar, co-CIO and co-lead manager of AB Large Cap Growth, will retire on March 31, 2028, after 15 years with the firm and 27 years in the investment industry. He originally joined the strategy as a comanager in 2018. While Thapar's planned retirement represents a notable upcoming change, the firm has taken steps to ensure a smooth succession by appointing Shri Singhvi as co-CIO alongside John Fogarty and Thapar, effective July 31, 2026. Singhvi has been with AllianceBernstein for 18 years, having begun his career at the firm as a research analyst on the small- and mid-cap value team covering the financials and technology sectors. He currently serves as CIO of US Strategic Equities, a role he will relinquish at the end of 2026 to focus on his responsibilities within the Large Cap Growth strategy. The firm has stated that no changes to the investment approach are expected. The team will remain appropriately staffed through and after the transition, though it will need to prove itself under the new leadership regime. Accordingly, the strategy’s Average People rating, Average Process rating, and overall Morningstar Medalist Ratings still apply.
