Analyst Note

Capital Group has announced that Will Robbins stepped down as lead principal investment officer of American Funds American Mutual on April 1. Charles Ellwein, one of eight other managers on the strategy (along with Robbins), has taken Robbins’ place allocating capital to the managers’ independently run portions of the portfolio. Because Robbins will remain a manager here, and because Ellwein has acquired some PIO experience as lead of the team from Capital Research Global Investors since June 2021, no major changes in the investment approach are expected here. The strategy retains its High People and Above Average Process ratings as well as the respective Morningstar Medalist Rating of each share class.
