UOB Earnings: Higher Interest Rates Still Support NIM Expansion Despite Deposit Competition

UOB's third-quarter operating profit declined 3% year on year, as weaker treasury income from noncustomer activities, driven by less favorable market conditions, more than offset stronger net fee income and treasury customer income. Shares fell 6% as earnings missed consensus forecasts.
