Ally Financial: Exiting the Mortgage Origination Business Is a Positive Step for the Firm

Ally Financial intends to fully exit its mortgage origination business and reduce its workforce by around 5% in the process. This follows a previous move in November to stop holding new mortgages on the bank's balance sheet and instead only originating mortgages to resell them.
