The Week Ahead: Jobs Report in Focus

With a tumultuous first quarter in the rear-view mirror, this week’s calendar is focused on economic data. Outside of those releases, the factors that have been moving the market recently from trade to inflation to the prospect of heavier tech regulation are also likely to be in focus.

Friday's jobs reports is the marquee release. Investors will be looking at not only the headline employment gains but also for signs of wage inflation.

We'll also get a look at the strength of the manufacturing economy with the ISM index, factory orders, and auto sales.
