Toby Moerschen is a managing director, corporate ratings, for Morningstar DBRS. He provides analysis, research and data on companies across a range of industries. Moerschen is responsible for teams covering large corporates as well as small firms with high debt burdens (middle market) globally.

Before joining Morningstar in 2023, Moerschen worked in investment research at a bank-owned asset manager, an insurer, and a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund. Moerschen previously worked at another credit rating agency and started his finance career with DBRS.

Moerschen holds an Economics degree from the University of Cologne, Germany, and an MBA from Columbia University.

Our investment management business generates asset-based fees, which are calculated as a percentage of assets under management. We also sell both admissions and sponsorship packages for our investment conferences and advertising on our websites and newsletters.
