Laura Pavlenko Lutton

Laura Lutton is the global head of manager research at Morningstar. She oversees Morningstar’s manager research analyst team, which provides qualitative research and ratings on more than 3,000 managed portfolios and comprehensive research papers on dozens of industry trends each year.

Lutton is a Morningstar veteran. Before assuming her current role in July 2024, she was director of ESG risk products at Morningstar Sustainalytics. Before that, from 2019 to 2022, she was head of asset-management solutions, where she led business and product development strategy for Morningstar’s asset-management clients.

During the previous two decades, Lutton worked in a variety of research roles at Morningstar, from equity analyst to head of Morningstar’s North American manager research team, a role she departed in 2019. She is also a founding member of Morningstar’s Women’s Initiative and has served as its executive sponsor.

Lutton holds a bachelor’s degree in government and international studies from Colby College and a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
