Jason Shoichiro Kondo is an equity analyst for Morningstar.* He covers the Japanese industrials sector across various subsegments like robotics/factory automation, industrial components, heavy machinery, and other capital equipment.
Before joining Morningstar in 2019, Kondo worked for SMBC Nikko Securities in the investment banking division as a vice president, where he engaged in merger and acquisition/valuation advisory, capital raising transactions, and investor relations support for Japanese companies. Before that, he was at Toshiba Corporation, focusing on the international sales and marketing of security and automation machines.
Kondo holds a bachelor's degree in economics from New York University College of Arts & Science. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Osaka University Graduate School of Economics.
