Don’t Give Up on Diversifiers After a Difficult Stretch

David Reyna, CFA, is a senior manager research analyst for Morningstar. He covers alternative and multi-asset investment strategies.
Before joining Morningstar in 2025, Reyna led the funds division at Oasis Investment Strategies, where he oversaw the development, launch, and ongoing management of registered and private fund vehicles. In that role, he worked closely with portfolio managers, traders, and service providers on product design, risk oversight, regulatory coordination, and investor-facing due diligence. Earlier in his career, Reyna spent more than a decade at R.J. O’Brien & Associates, including senior roles in due diligence and risk oversight, where he conducted research on managed futures and alternative strategies and helped build the firm’s institutional alternatives platform.
Reyna holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
