WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2026
WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- General David H. Petraeus (U.S. Army Ret.), one of the most prominent military leaders of the post 9/11 era, will join the American Primary Aluminum Association for a fireside chat on Oct. 16, 2026, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. According to the Modern War Institute at West Point, aluminum is a "foundational material for aircraft, armored vehicles, naval systems, and munitions components."

After decades of Chinese and Russian market-manipulation, America has lost its ability to produce military-grade aluminum, leaving the U.S. dependent on foreign countries in the Middle East, Russia and China for this foundational metal used by our warfighters. General Petraeus will discuss these emerging national security threats and current geopolitical issues, while economist Adam Hersh will unveil a new economic impact study.
