Franchise veteran and business coach to play key role in brand's national expansion
SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- JunkStart, the first-ever pay-by-weight junk removal franchise, has brought franchise veteran Bryan Cross on board as vice president of operations. Cross will work alongside founder Daniel McCarty to help build the systems franchise owners need as JunkStart expands into new markets.

Cross brings more than a decade of franchise development expertise to the JunkStart brand and has coached more than 100 franchise owners from business launch to growth success. His experience includes leadership roles with i9 Sports, College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving and Lawn Doctor.
"What stood out to me about JunkStart is that there's a strong business model here, but there's also a real opportunity to help shape how the company grows," Cross said. "My focus is making sure franchise owners have the support and systems they need to run strong businesses without making things more complicated than they need to be."
JunkStart provides franchise owners an efficient operational structure designed to keep overhead low and help them stand out in the junk removal industry. The unique business model also provides opportunities for revenue from both residential and commercial customers, giving owners a broader base of business as they grow.
"We have a lot of momentum right now, and Bryan can help us build the operation to match it," McCarty said. "He's spent years helping franchise owners figure out what works and how to improve it. He understands what it takes to grow without losing sight of the people actually running the business."
