Meta Seeks to Raise Funds in Debut Euro Bond Sale
By Miriam Mukuru
U.S. tech company Meta Platforms on Wednesday launched a six-part euro bond offering, LSEG data showed. The company launched 4-year euro bond, a 6-year euro bond, an 8-year euro bond, a 12-year euro bond, an 18-year euro bond, and a 38-year euro bond.
The size of the issue was not yet disclosed. This follows $15 billion in U.S. dollar bond issuance by Meta in a five-part offering on Tuesday.
The new euro bond issue offers a favorable entry point for investors, CreditSights analysts said in a note.
"Meta's debt euro issuance across six tranches offers an opportunity for euro investors to diversify their tech holdings," they said.
Nonetheless, analysts recommend investors leave room to participate in future bond deals at possibly better entry prices as tech companies are expected to issue more debt in the coming years.
The proceeds from the bond sale will go toward general corporate purpose, LSEG data showed.
