Tech Up as AI Credit Fears Subside - Tech Roundup
Shares of technology companies rose as fears about artificial-intelligence credit issues subsided.
Shares of CoreWeave fell slightly on a volatile session as concerns it had overextended itself on credit to build artificial-intelligence infrastructure abated. One strategist said last week's crisis of confidence in CoreWeave's credit would be remembered as a blip in the historic AI boom.
"I think focusing on these one-off type of events, albeit important, is probably not material to the main plot of this revolutionary change, equivalent to industrial revolution, equivalent to the Internet," said J.D. Joyce, president of Houston financial advisory Joyce Wealth Management.
Meanwhile, there was another development in the AI arms race between the U.S. and China. The Department of Homeland Security ordered federal civilian agencies to remove AI technology developed by China's DeepSeek from IT systems and forbade new orders.
