Metis on Monday said the companies will work with to discover novel lipid nanoparticle-based delivery solutions designed to enable tissue-specific delivery of therapeutic modalities.
Metis said it will use its proprietary, AI-driven ionizable lipid discovery and optimization platform to develop delivery technologies with the potential to improve targeting and biodistribution of lipid nanoparticle-based delivery, while Indianapolis drugmaker Eli Lilly will contribute its expertise in drug discovery, development and commercialization.
Metis said it will receive an upfront payment in the low double-digit millions of dollars and will be eligible for up to about $1.1 billion in development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments, along with royalties on product sales.
