Utilities Up as Treasury Yields Fall - Utilities Roundup
Shares of power producers rose sharply as Treasury yields fell.
Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams hinted that he did not currently see any need for rate hikes in 2027, speaking in an interview with Bloomberg.
Separately, Boston Fed president Susan Collins said she anticipated raising rates further before the end of the year to ensure a timely and durable return of inflation to the Fed's target. After that, Collins said, further policy action will depend on incoming data.
The yield on the 30-year bond closed roughly 10 basis points below its multidecade high ahead of key inflation data.
