RTX's Raytheon unit received $729 million in contracts to deliver components of a counter-drone system to the U.S. army, as well as Qatar and Jordan.

The contracts mark the first international sales for Raytheon's Ku-band Radio Frequency Sensor (KuRFS) and the Coyote effector, the company said Tuesday.

Raytheon's KuRFS aims to provide 360-degree threat detection, while Coyote effectors are designed to defeat individual drones as well as swarms, RTX said.

RTX said Raytheon is ramping up production for the Coyote effectors to meet a surge in global demand amid rapidly evolving drone threats. It is also working to upgrade their capabilities with faster launch times, higher speeds and greater range, the company said.
