Consumer Cos Up on Hopes for Fuel-Price Moderation — Consumer Roundup

Consumer companies rose amid hopes for moderation in fuel prices.

President Donald Trump said the U.S. would import diesel from Russia, curbing a recent spike in prices of the fuel.

Delta Air Lines shares were more or less flat after the carrier cut its projection for 2026 earnings, citing the recent increase in fuel prices.

The University of Michigan's consumer-sentiment survey produced gloomy findings, with the index falling to 46.3 in its preliminary October reading, versus 48.1 in September.
