ICE Midday: Canola Showing Independent Strength
WINNIPEG, Manitoba--Canola futures on the Intercontinental Exchange maintained Monday's positive momentum, despite negative sentiment in comparable oils.
Crude oil prices dropped due to easing supply concerns in Saudi Arabia and the Strait of Hormuz. On Monday, United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order broadening the use of highway tax-exempt, red-dyed diesel nationwide.
Chicago soyoil and Malaysian palm oil were down. The November European rapeseed contract fell, while deferred contracts were higher.
The Prairies will see daytime high temperatures range from the teens to mid-20 degrees Celsius. With the exception of northern Saskatchewan, the region will see sunny skies.
The Canadian dollar was up more than one-tenth of a U.S. cent compared to Monday's close.
About 42,800 canola contracts have traded at 10:14 CDT. Prices in Canadian dollars per metric tonne:
