Financials Down as Treasury Yields Rise - Financials Roundup
Shares of banks and other financial institutions fell as global market volatility picked up.
Yields on the two-year and 10-year Treasury notes closed at multiyear highs.
"We're surprised how resilient the market has been," said Eric Marshall, president at Dallas mutual-fund firm Hodges Capital. "August and September are always just from a seasonable standpoint, are kind of choppy for equity markets." The resilience is notable "given what we've seen happen with 10-year bumping up over the last month or so and a lot of uncertainties surrounding geopolitical tariffs midterm elections coming up."
Robinhood Markets expanded its partnership with Crypto.com and struck a deal with the digital-currency's predictions market spinoff OG.com, as it pushes into sports-betting ahead of the National Football League season.
