Costco August Sales Rise 9.9%

Costco Wholesale reported 9.9% sales growth to $23.7 billion in August.
The membership warehouse club on Wednesday added that its total fourth-quarter sales reached $93.9 billion, up 11.3% year-over-year.
For the four weeks ended Aug. 30, comparable sales were up 8.4% across the company, including a 9% gain in the U.S., 4% in Canada, and 9.5% in other international markets. Digitally-enabled comparable sales rose 17.9%.
Comparable sales were up 9.4% in the full fourth quarter, Costco said. That included an 10.7% increase in the U.S., a 5% rise in Canada, and a 7% gain in other international markets.
Excluding the impacts from gas prices and foreign exchange rates, Costco's comparable sales were up 5.4% in August and 6.7% in the fourth quarter.
