Financials Down After Spike in Oil, Bond Yields - Financials Roundup
Shares of banks and other financial institutions fell as a rout in global bond markets caused concerns about financial conditions.
The yields on the two-year and 10-year Treasurys closed at their highest levels since early 2025. "It's a pretty strong trend and it's global," said Lorenzo Di Mattia, chief financial officer of Sibilla Capital. The trend stretches from Japanese bonds to British gilts to German Bunds and French bonds, Di Mattia said.
Shares of private-credit managers such as Blue Owl and Blackstone fell sharply.
