Volkswagen Proposes Reelection of Hans Dieter Poetsch as Chairman

By Aimee Look

Volkswagen proposed the reelection of its Chairman of the Board, Hans Dieter Poetsch.

The German carmaker said Friday that the proposal would be submitted to its supervisory board at an upcoming meeting and then put to a shareholders' vote at the annual general meeting on June 18. Poetsch has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen since October 2015.

Also on Friday, Porsche SE---the entity controlled by the Porsche-Piech family that holds a nearly 32% stake in Volkswagen---said it resolved at a meeting to extend the term of Hans Dieter Poetsch as chairman of its own board of management.

Poetsch's appointment extension on Porsche SE's board will start at the beginning of 2027, and run for a period of five years, the company said in a separate statement.
