Airbnb Rolls Out $750 Incentive for New Hosts in 2026 World Cup Cities
By Connor Hart
Airbnb will offer new hosts up to $750 to list and rent out their homes in cities hosting matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in what the company described as its largest new-host incentive program to date.
The short-term rental platform said Wednesday that searches for stays in the 16 host cities are up about 80% on average compared with the same period last year, citing rising demand ahead of the tournament.
Under the program, first-time hosts who list an entire home and complete their first stay by July 31 will be eligible for the $750 payment, in addition to rental income earned from guests. Deloitte estimates that residents in host cities could earn about $3,000 on average by renting their space during the event, according to Airbnb.
"There's truly never been a better time to become a host on Airbnb," Chief Business Officer Dave Stephenson said.
