South Korean manufacturer LG Electronics expects to post a quarterly operating loss for the first time in nine years, hampered by a sluggish recovery in demand for televisions and other consumer electronics amid intensified competition.

Bridge Data Centres, a tech infrastructure developer backed by investment firm Bain Capital, is planning a foray into the Middle East, Australia and Japan as data-center operators worldwide race to build hyperscale infrastructure for the fast-growing artificial-intelligence sector.
