Japan's NEC to Acquire CSG Systems International for $2.89 Billion

NEC Corp. has agreed to acquire Colorado-based software company CSG Systems International for $2.89 billion as part of efforts to strengthen its offerings for telecom and broadband businesses in the U.S.

The Japanese information-technology company said Wednesday that CSG and its U.S.-based unit Netcracker Technology are highly complementary in terms of geography and customer segments.

NEC said CSG shareholders will receive $80.70 a share in cash as part of the transaction.

The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 and is subject to approvals from CSG shareholders and relevant authorities, the company said.
