Humain to Invest $3 Billion With Blackstone's AirTrunk in Saudi Data Center Campus
By Connor Hart
Humain, the artificial-intelligence arm of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, said it will invest about $3 billion with AirTrunk to build a large-scale data center campus in the kingdom.
The project marks AirTrunk's first expansion into the Middle East. The data-center operator was acquired by Blackstone Inc. and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in 2024.
The partnership additionally aims to advance Saudi Arabia's efforts to develop digital infrastructure and position itself as a global hub for artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Humain said Tuesday the venture combines its AI expertise with AirTrunk's experience building and managing hyperscale data centers for major cloud and technology companies. The companies said the project will create scalable and sustainable capacity to support the growth of AI and digital services in Saudi Arabia.
"This initiative not only accelerates Saudi Arabia's technological advancement but also establishes a platform for long-term economic diversification and global competitiveness," Humain Chief Executive Tareq Amin said.
