U.S. Futures, European Stocks Decline

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 declined 0.5% in morning trading. H&M Hennes & Mauritz B climbed 8.7% and Rational rose 3.6%. On the other hand, Siemens Healthineers slipped 5.3%, and Getinge Series B fell 5%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.4%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.6% and Germany's DAX dropped 0.4%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 95.23.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 0.3% to $68.23 a barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.4% to $64.72 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 1.5% to 32.38 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield was flat at 2.756%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury held steady at 4.151%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained 0.3%, whereas Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.3%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite held steady.
