Adobe Boosts Fiscal Year View as Sales, Profit Continue to Rise

Adobe raised its full-year outlook after logging higher sales and profit in the third quarter.

The San Jose, Calif., software company on Thursday said it now expects annual revenue to be $23.65 billion to $23.7 billion, up from a previous range of $23.5 billion to $23.6 billion. Adjusted earnings per share are now expected to be $20.80 to $20.85, up from $20.50 to $20.70.

Adobe also raised its outlook in the previous quarter.

It posted a profit of $1.77 billion, or $4.18 a share, in the third-quarter ended August 29, compared with $1.68 billion, or $3.78 a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, adjusted per-share earnings were $5.31, ahead of the $5.18 anticipated by analysts, according to FactSet.

Revenue rose 11% to $5.99 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast revenue of $5.92 billion.

For the current quarter, Adobe expects revenue to be $6.08 billion to $6.13 billion, compared with analysts' estimates of $6.09 billion. Adjusted earnings per share are guided to be $5.35 to $5.40, ahead of the $5.34 Wall Street was looking for.
