Ameresco Shares Climb on Navy Data Center Deal
By Dean Seal
Shares of Ameresco jumped after the company said it has agreed to help the U.S. Navy build an AI-optimized data center at one of its air stations.
The stock was up 9% at $26.45 in early trading. Shares are now up 12% since the start of the year.
The Framingham, Mass., energy provider said before the opening bell that it will work with the Navy to develop a 100-megawatt data center and critical energy infrastructure at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California.
The facility is to be co-located with onsite energy generation infrastructure that can meet the demands of advanced AI workloads, Ameresco said.
The company is partnering with CyrusOne on AI data center infrastructure for the project.
