Amazon to Invest $9 Billion More in Singapore Cloud Infrastructure

By Sherry Qin

Amazon.com will invest an additional $9 billion in its cloud infrastructure in Singapore to meet growing demand for cloud technology and services.

Amazon Web Services, the tech giant's clouding-computing arm, said at the AWS ASEAN Summit in Singapore on Tuesday that the investment will be rolled out over the next four years. With the fresh funds, AWS's planned investment in Singapore's cloud infrastructure is set to double to more than $17 billion by 2028.

AWS has been accelerating cloud-infrastructure investment globally in recent months, announcing plans to invest in Japan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
