Aker Solutions Wins Contract to Upgrade Equinor Refinery in Norway
By Michael Susin
Aker Solutions said it has been awarded a substantial contract by Equinor to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant of the Mongstad refinery, on the west coast of Norway.
The energy-industry service provider said on Monday that the project will start right away and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, while the contract will be booked in the second quarter of the current year.
Despite not disclosing exact figures, Aker Solutions defines a substantial contract as between 2.5 billion and 4.0 billion Norwegian kroner ($226.6 million and $362.5 million).
The company said the project will also reduce the environmental impact of the refinery.
