Autodesk Probe of Accounting Practices Still Ongoing

By Ben Glickman

Autodesk said Tuesday a probe of its accounting practices was still in progress, meaning it won't be able to file its annual report with regulators within the extension period.

Autodesk said the subject of the probe remained the same and it doesn't believe the investigation would affect any previous financial statements.

The San Francisco-based software company disclosed early this month that it wouldn't be able to file its Form 10-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on time because it was investigating accounting issues related to free cash flow and adjusted operating margins.

Autodesk said it expects to receive notice from the Nasdaq Stock Market that it is out of compliance with listing standards. The company said it would move to regain compliance with the listing rules as soon as practicable.

The company filed its notice of late filing April 1, and as of Tuesday has lapsed its 15-day extension period to file its 10-K for the year ended Jan 31.
