Archer Daniels Midland Delays Annual Filing Amid Accounting Probe
By Ben Glickman
Archer Daniels Midland will delay filing its annual report with regulators as the company probes its accounting practices.
The Chicago-based farming giant said Friday that it had notified the Securities and Exchange Commission that it would file its annual Form 10-K late. The company said it intends to file the report "as soon as practicable" by March 15.
ADM said in January that it expected to delay reporting financial results. The company placed finance chief Vikram Luthar on administrative leave as it investigates accounting in its nutrition business.
The company said Friday that it would make a subsequent announcement about the date and time of its earnings report once its Form 10-K filing date was confirmed.
The company's investigation of accounting practices was initiated after it received a request for documents from the SEC. ADM has said it's cooperating with regulators.
