Anglo American Signs Preliminary Deal to Explore Battery Opportunities in Finland
By Christian Moess Laursen
Anglo American has signed a memorandum of understanding with Finnish Minerals Group to explore battery value-chain opportunities, the diversified miner said Monday.
The deal further strengthens Anglo American's commitment to the Nordic country as well as to its multi-metal Sakatti project in northern Finland, the miner said.
"Finland provides a stable and secure source of many of the metals and minerals needed for the world to decarbonize," Projects and Development Director Alison Atkinson said.
Finnish Minerals Group is a holding and development company that manages the Finnish government's mining industry shareholdings.
