By Sabela Ojea
L3Harris Technologies has been awarded a Space Development Agency contract valued at up to $919 million to design and build 18 infrared space vehicles.
The aerospace and defense company on Tuesday said the vehicles are part of the agency's tranche 2 tracking layer program, which will provide missile warning and tracking coverage.
The company's technology would also support preliminary fire control for the agency's proliferated warfighter space architecture.
