Barrick Gold 4Q Gold Output Rises Over 3Q, Copper Unchanged

Barrick Gold said Tuesday that its fourth-quarter gold production rose sequentially in the fourth quarter, while copper came in unchanged from the previous quarter.
The Canadian mining major said total gold production in the quarter came to about 1.05 million ounces in the period, and 113 million pounds of copper.
It said that gold production in the period was an improvement over the previous quarter, while copper production was in line.
For the full year, gold production reached 4.05 million ounces and 420 million pounds of copper.
The company said that copper output was within the guidance range of 420 million to 470 million pounds for the year.
Barrick said it plans to release more details in its full-year and fourth quarter results expected on Feb. 14.
