London Stocks Seen Opening Little Changed

0645 GMT - The FTSE 100 is expected to open 2.5 points lower, according to IG, having closed on Thursday at 7333.63, as markets await speeches later by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and European Central Bank governor Christine Lagarde at the Jackson Hole symposium. "In light of recent market nervousness, investors will particularly scrutinize both speeches to assess whether the FOMC or the ECB's Governing Council will prioritize inflation or the economic outlook," analysts at UniCredit Research say in a note. Traders will be particularly cautious about whether Powell could hint at the possibility of more rate increases. German Ifo data will be watched at 0800 GMT. (jessica.fleetham@wsj.com)
