Bharti Airtel Fourth-Quarter Net Profit Rose 50%
By Ben Otto
Bharti Airtel said Tuesday that its fourth-quarter net profit rose 50% on higher revenue across almost all business lines.
The Indian telecom company said net profit for the quarter ended March rose to 30.06 billion rupees ($365.1 million) from INR20.08 billion a year earlier. That beat the estimate of INR28.62 billion from a poll of analysts by FactSet.
Fourth-quarter revenue was INR360.09 billion, up from INR315.00 billion a year earlier.
The bottom line was also helped by lower total tax expenses, while a greater proportion of profit was attributable to owners of the parent company.
