Rheinmetall Gets E-Mobility Contract With Xiaomi EV Business
By Cecilia Butini
Rheinmetall AG said Monday that it has won a contract with Chinese electronics company Xiaomi Corp. to support production at its electric-vehicle business.
The contract is worth a figure in the mid-double-digit million-euro range and was won through Rheinmetall's Materials and Trade division, the German automotive company said.
Rheinmetall will supply triangular beams to support suspension strut mountings, as well as assembly plates, for the manufacture of Xiaomi's electric vehicles, it said. Production is slated to start in 2024, Rheinmetall said.
