Recur Software Acquires Keystone Public Safety
Recur will invest in Keystone’s platform and bring AI capabilities to the daily work of state and local law enforcement
Recur Software has acquired Keystone Public Safety, a provider of mission-critical dispatch, records, and jail management software for county and municipal public safety agencies.
Recur will invest in the platform and bring AI capabilities to the daily work of dispatchers, officers, and records staff, while preserving Keystone’s pillars of reliability and service. The acquisition marks Recur’s first investment in public safety and the latest in its portfolio serving highly regulated industries.
Keystone serves as the operational backbone for law enforcement, fire, and emergency dispatch agencies. Customers span major metropolitan counties to local municipalities, with relationships averaging more than 20 years. Keystone’s platform is configurable to an agency’s own procedures, screens, and permissions, making Keystone deeply embedded in how each department runs day to day.
“Public safety software is tested where it matters most. And yet the sector’s technology has historically fallen short of the innovation bar we see in other industries,” said Charlie Serota, Co-Founder of Recur Software. “Not only has Keystone earned its customers’ trust, but it holds decades of workflow and data that AI can put to work for the agencies that generated it. We see a massive opportunity to invest in the product and deliver better outcomes in the field.”
“Working with Recur showed me what the business could look like with the right people pushing it forward,” said Mike DePerro, CEO of Keystone. “They brought a vision for what AI can do not as an add-on, but at the core of how our platform is built and how our customers use it every day. We're already innovating on that foundation, and I've never been more excited about where Keystone is headed.”
