Spotfire® Brings AI-Augmented Investigation Inside the Analysis for Industrial Teams
Second Spotfire® Quarterly Update puts Spotfire AI at the center, helping engineers and scientists ask, assist, and act on their data under their own governance.
Spotfire, a business unit of Cloud Software Group and a global leader in enterprise-class visual industrial analytics, today announced the second edition of the Spotfire Quarterly Update, a quarterly program designed to communicate the company's latest innovations and strategic direction across the Spotfire® platform. This edition puts Spotfire AI at the center, alongside what's new in Spotfire 15.1.
Generating analysis has become easy; trusting it has not. In industrial environments, an answer nobody can verify can mean scrapped lots, rejected batches, or mispriced bids. This edition shows how Spotfire AI, the AI built into Spotfire itself, helps engineers, scientists, and operational teams go from fragmented information to defensible decisions. They ask in their own words, build and configure analyses faster, and act on what they find in the systems where work gets done, all inside the analysis rather than beside it.
As AI models become more capable, the value shifts to the context and evidence around them. Spotfire AI works across data silos and lets teams assemble fragmented operational data for analysis, with validated, reproducible methods and visible evidence behind every result, so experts stay in control of the decision.
"Producing an analysis is no longer the hard part; trusting it is," said Tobias Lehtipalo, VP of Product Management at Spotfire. "Spotfire AI lets engineers and scientists ask questions in their own words and get answers they can check against their real data, using methods they can reproduce, under the governance their organization already runs. Domain expertise stays at the center of every decision."
Highlights from this quarter's update include Ask Spotfire, arriving with Spotfire 15.1, a natural language assistant that lets users describe what they need and have analyses built and modified in Spotfire. Spotfire AI also augments experts in building and configuring analyses and visualizations, while Insight Agents and Skills let them capture an analytical method once so anyone on the team can run it, including industry-native agents for manufacturing and energy. Also arriving with Spotfire 15.1, MCP support, an open standard for linking AI to other systems, lets experts connect Spotfire AI to other systems in their environment, such as maintenance planning or ticketing, and trigger actions from within the analysis. Organizations choose their AI models and decide which groups can use them, with usage logged and auditable.
"The better AI models get, the more the context around them matters," said Niklas Amberntsson, Director of Product Management at Spotfire. "Spotfire brings together the fragmented, spatial, and temporal data of industrial operations with validated methods and visible evidence, so experts can decide whether an answer is true and act on it with confidence."
The upcoming Spotfire 15.1 also deepens industry-native analytics for high-tech manufacturing. Wafer layout detection, statistics layers, and exposure-field visualization help engineers analyze spatial wafer data and move toward root cause within a single visual environment.
The Spotfire Quarterly Update serves as the foundation of a broader quarterly communication program that includes webinars, customer resources, product updates, and educational content designed to help organizations understand how innovation translates into real-world outcomes.
